According to Armstrong and Baron (1998), Performance Supervision is equally a strategic and an integrated way of delivering good results in organisations by enhancing the efficiency and producing the capabilities of groups and individuals.

This report will review and evaluate the ideas and rules of efficiency management, speaking about the system of Tesco PLC in comparison to HM Revenue & Customs.

A good functionality management system permits the organization to understand how their employees are currently performing, and identify these employees that contribute most, or least. It enables the organization to assess the training demands of the employees and set development strategies. From the employee's perspective, the performance management process gives transparency more than performance in the work place, provides a framework for documenting concerns relating to overall performance, and can be used to assess foreseeable future developments. (CIPD, 2012) The CIPD suggests that a good performance management system can benefit the whole organization. Tesco PLC uses an impressive efficiency management system, which is reflected within their 15. 1% growth in annual sales and a 5. 5% growth in profits, also during the global recession. (Marr, 2009) HMRC uses a diverse performance management system in order to drive collection activity for govt needs.
