This examine, based in a manufacturing plant in Venezuela, examines the relationship between perceived job characteristics, psychological empowerment and commitment, by using a questionnaire study of 313 employees. The purpose of the study was going to assess the effects of an organizational intervention with the plant targeted at increasing production by providing functionality feedback on key facets of its daily operations. It was hypothesized that perceived qualities of the job environment, including task meaningfulness and job feedback, can enhance mental empowerment, which in turn will have an optimistic impact on staff commitment. Test out of a strength model says the relationship of task meaningfulness and task feedback with affective commitment was somewhat mediated by the empowerment measurements of identified control and goal internalization. The results highlight the role of goal internalization as a crucial mediating system between task characteristics and affective dedication. The study likewise validates a Spanish-language variation of the internal empowerment level by Menon (2001).
